Description: Situated just above the beach at Marigot Bay, the luxurious 7 bedroom La Calanque is the perfect vacation villa for an extended family. Its architecturally traditional design is complemented with a lovely mix of unique furnishings, interesting and whimsical antiques, and touches of Asian exotica. The fit-for-a-chef kitchen has charming touches and an adjacent glass enclosed dining room overlooks a gorgeous swimming pool. The spacious sunken (air conditioned) living room – four whirling ceiling fans provide a tropical ambiance – has several conversation areas and an oversized armoire houses a media center. The master en suite king bedroom and a little loft office are located on an upper level, and two bedrooms with 4 poster queen beds and richly tiled and appointed en suite baths, are located off the main level’s winding verandah. Two connecting bedroom suites, each with its own bath, are located on a lower level. One of the bedrooms features a nautical theme with a built-in captain’s bed (king) and a leather banquette. The fifth bedroom offers a built-in double bed, sitting area and kitchenette. This bedroom is well-suited for a teen or staff as it has a separate entrance from the lower parking area.
The compound also includes a two bedroom bungalow (queen and twin – shared bath) that has its own cozy little living room, kitchenette and private terrace – perfect for teens or staff. Additional outdoor spaces include a poolside ajoupa for alfresco dining, a wet bar, and a latticed courtyard for quiet sunning and relaxation. The beach – which is wonderful for both swimming and snorkeling – is accessible via a stone staircase or by car. La Calanque is well designed for entertaining and is a perfect venue for gatherings and celebrations.
