Description: What a history Villa L’Estancia has! It began as a 17th Century
manor house in Normandy, and a few hundred years later – the 1980s to
be exact – it was painstakingly shipped, plank by plank, and reassembled
as a small hotel in Lorient. In this millennium, it caught the eye – and
heart – of an international designer who worked her magic. The result
is a spectacular five bedroom villa estate, deliciously secluded and just 100
yards from beautiful Lorient Beach.
Its centuries old interior was transformed into a vast open living space with
its rustic soul preserved and beautifully complemented by chic minimalist décor
in a palette of charcoal and wood. Unique furnishings add all the right touches. A
teak dining table imported from Indonesia blends with the sleek kitchen’s
teak cabinetry and black granite counters, and the salon’s Italian designer
couches are coolly elegant. The spacious outdoor living and dining areas are
delightful with a bit of an old-plantation feel. A swimming pool ensconced
in lush tropical gardens anchors the layout which consists of several pavilions
containing a mix of bedrooms, baths, a children’s area and a luxurious
pool house with plush daybeds for lounging. The king-bedded master suite, in
its own pavilion, is reached via a little foot bridge spanning a lily pond
and is nicely private. It features an en suite bath with soaking tub
and an outdoor shower. Three bedrooms (1 king and 2 queens, one of
which is a Japanese tatami – slightly smaller and low to the floor) all have
baths en suite and are situated on the opposite end of the pool. The fifth bedroom is in a pavilion that is located across from the master bedroom. It features a king/twin bed, an en suite bath with a child-size tub and a private outdoor shower. A mezzanine
in the main house provides additional sleeping space as it includes a queen
bed. Guests here would use the bathroom just below on the ground level.
Villa L’Estancia has a wealth of amenities that include a 4-person Jacuzzi,
surround sound, a wet bar, a sandy area for those who wish to play Petanque (Bocce)
and loads more. L’Estancia is a wonderful choice for families with children,
and with its beautiful gardens, would be a great venue for a wedding or other
special celebration.
