Just steps from the Caribbean blue waters of sexy St. Jean Beach, Le Tom Beach Hotel couldn’t ask for a better location – and its well known owner, island bon vivant and entrepreneur Thierry de Badereau doesn’t. He knows he has a gem of a property that is as popular with locals as it is with visitors. This chic 12 room boutique -style hotel welcomes guests who return every year, to see-and-be-seen, enjoy the oceanfront setting and easy access to a wealth of fun water sports. And one never knows who you will bump into having a cold Carib or Planteur’s Punch at its tiny Pink Parrot Beach Bar. Residents can be seen bussing one another’s cheeks as they sashay in to the hotel’s Restaurant La Plage to lunch and dine. One of the island’s hot spots, the Kasbah-like La Plage often features fashion shows with models sporting teeny bikinis and pareos from its boutique. There are DJs spinning tunes and live entertainment at night. Dancing fire eaters? They’ve got it covered. Mornings however are quiet and delightful at La Plage and guests can quietly sip and savor their coffee and croissants to the sounds of the surf and the smell of hibiscus.
The hotel is gaily painted in pretty warm, Caribbean colors and the ten rooms tucked away amidst the tropical gardens include three with a balcony and seven with a terrace. Two deluxe rooms boast a private sun deck and a spectacular view of St. Jean Bay. A fun and funky little footbridge spans a small pool that provides a quiet respite from the beach scene. The rooms feature romantically draped king-size 4-poster beds and all the mod-cons: plasma TVs, DVD players, iPod docking stations and the like.
Upon arrival, guests are enchanted by the little lobby cum art gallery – the Tom Beach Art Studio – with its displays of fine art, photography and video and sculpture. The Côte d'Azur-like enclave St. Jean Village, replete with shops, bars, bistros and beautiful people, is just a short walk, so no need to search for a parking spot during the high-season bustle. Le Tom Beach has an oh-so-convenient parking garage beneath the hotel for its guests. C’est Bon

Who Would Just Love it Here
St. Jean Beach lovers and lovers in general as long as they are looking for a good “scene” and not a secluded hideaway. The proximity to all the activity at St. Jean Beach and the village make this a great spot for families especially those with ‘tweens and teens. |
