Water Sports

Scuba divers can explore some large caves and two wrecks. The best diving is around Pain de Sucre, an islet just off Gustavia harbor, and around Coco Islet and a small cape, L'Ane Rouge, off Colombier Bay. Diving schools offer full-day expeditions to neighboring islands, night dives and PADI certification.

Windsurfing, paddleboarding and kiteboarding are increasingly popular. Lessons are available for all these sports–no wetsuits needed! Visitors love the Jet Ski tours around the island, and the Seabob, an electric water scooter, is fun for all ages. Flyboards are available for the adventurous.

Boating, Sailing & Yachting

The options here include everything from crewed catamarans for snorkeling todinghy andkayakrentals to romantic sunset cruises.

Sailing on St. Barth is much like the island itself, slowly paced and spectacularly beautiful with no high gales but rather warm, steady moderate trade winds at 10-20 knots. Lively St. Jean Beach and Grand Cul de Sacare ideal for water sports– windsurfers love the just-right breezes. Lessons are available. Try it!

Tennis

Court times can be arranged by the stadium in St. Jean. Tennis lessons with a pro are also available and can be arrangedthrough our concierge desk. Several tournaments are organized every year, including a major event in August which welcomes the participation of visitors for friendly competition.

Island Tours

Touring St. Barth with a knowledgeable guide in an air-conditioned vehicle provides an excellent island orientation and stunning views combined with interesting history and anecdotes. Additional information and booking are available via our concierge.

Hiking

Hiking can be a great way to explore the island. The most popular trail is the goat path (about a 20-minute walk) from Petite Anse to stunning Colombier Beach, whichotherwise can only be accessed by the sea.

You may also want to visit the natural pools around Petit Cul de Sac and the "washing machine" on the island's southeast side (take the path off the road in Grand Fond) or hike out to Pointe à Toiny. Just past the Hotel Le Toiny, on the right you'll see a small gravel parking area, and from there you can head down a grassy path. This is the windward side of the island, so it's cool and breezy. Benches along the way make nice stops for taking in the amazing views and perhaps enjoyinga picnic lunch. Guided hikes can be arranged through our concierge.

Fitness

There is a full-service fitness center and a personal training studio on the island. In addition, yoga classes and individual instruction are available at beautiful outdoor sites, and we can arrange for a personal trainer or yoga instructor to come to a guest's villa.
